Bonaventure re-joined the Bank's Board of Directors in January 2021. He holds a B.Sc. in Agricultural economics from Kisangani University and an MBA in Finance from SFB. He was the Managing Director of Cogebanque, Head of Privatization Secretariat, Director General of the Rwanda Investment Promotion Agency, Chairman of the Rwanda Utility Regulatory Agency, and Chairman of the Rwanda Public Service Commission. He brings on board a vast experience and knowledge having spent a significant part of his career in both public and private sectors in Rwanda where he served as Minister of Commerce,Cooperative and Industries, and Minister of Energy, Water and natural resources.

Mr. Benjamin Mutimura is a seasoned banker with 16 years of experience in the financial sector and 4 years in education sector. He spent 13 years at I&M Bank (Rwanda) Plc and an additional 3 years at the Bank of Kigali. Throughout his career, Mr. Mutimura has held senior roles in corporate banking, retail, credit, and finance. He joined I&M Bank in 2007 as a Development Finance Officer, responsible for securing funds from Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) for long-term projects. In 2012, he was promoted to Head of Retail, and from 2016 to 2020, he served as Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking. Since 2020, Mr. Mutimura has been the Chief Commercial Officer at the Bank of Kigali. Mr. Mutimura holds a master's degree in Development Economics from Louvain La Neuve & Namur University and a bachelor's degree in Economics from the former National University of Rwanda. He is a certified Credit Officer by Omega Performance and has completed leadership programs at Strathmore University and the Senior Executive Program at Harvard Business School, demonstrating his commitment to continuous professional development and leadership.

Mr. Kihara Maina became the Regional Chief Executive Officer in January 2023. He joined I&M Bank Kenya as the Chief Executive Officer and Board member in May 2016. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Moi University and an Executive MBA from the University of Chicago – Booth School of Business. Mr Maina, began his banking career in June 1993 at Stanbic Bank Kenya then moved to Barclays Bank Kenya in 1997 where he served extensively over the years ultimately taking up senior leadership positions. Prior to joining I&M Bank, Kihara was the Managing Director of Barclays Bank Tanzania.

Simon joined the Bank’s Board of Directors in September 2018. He is a UK national, an experienced international banker who has served in various senior positions in Europe, Asia and Africa with Standard Chartered Bank Group and 2 large local banks in Mongolia and Vietnam. He has experience as a Chief executive Officer for 14 years in 6 countries in Asia, Simon also worked in Africa as the Regional head of Consumer Banking Africa for Standard Chartered Bank. Simon holds an MBA from the Henley Business School in the UK.

Crystal joined the Board of Directors in November 2017. She has a bachelor's degree in computer science from Grambling State University and master's degree in information systems and management from Carnegie Mellon University. She is currently working with Carnegie Mellon University Africa (CMU-Africa) as the Director of Strategy and Operations. Prior to joining Carnegie Mellon University, she worked at IBM's Silicon Valley Lab as a software engineer and also as a technology consultant providing IBM’s customers with business intelligence solutions. She joins the Board with experience in the technology and education fields.

Hira, Director at Bowman and former partner of Deloitte East Africa, he joined the board in February 2019. He holds a BSc Joint Honours in Accountancy and Process Engineering from University of Salford, England. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Kenya and also registered with similar institutes in Uganda and Tanzania He headed the tax practice for Deloitte in the East Africa region and in addition was the Technology, Media and Telecom industry leader. He has specialized in taxation since 1987 in various jurisdictions around the world including the UK and East Africa. He sits on the Advisory board of Eastern Africa Association and Nikhil is also a member of the board of I&M Bank in Kenya.

Alice is the Managing Director of Business Professionals Network Rwanda (BPN Rwanda), a Swiss international non-profit organization that fosters entrepreneurship worldwide. Prior to returning to her home country, she worked close to fifteen years in the banking sector in the renown Swiss firms Telekurs (Six Group) and Avaloq where she held different managerial positions in Europe, America and Asia. Mrs. Alice Nkulikiyinka holds a Master of Science in Economics and Computer Science, University of Applied Sciences Worms, Germany and a Master of Science and Information Management, University of Constance, Germany.

Mr. Dodd has a wealth of experience having served the banking industry in various executive capacities both in Kenya, as well as Asia and the Middle East. The first 28 years of his career were spent with Standard Chartered Group, latterly in East Africa where he rose to the position of Executive Director responsible for Corporate and Service Quality. In 2006 he joined NIC Bank Kenya Ltd, which subsequently became to be known as NCBA, where he held the positions of Executive Director responsible for Corporate, Asset Finance, including Leasing, and Bancassurance until the end of 2020. Following 43 years in the Banking industry, Mr. Dodd was approved by the Central Bank as Independent Non- Executive Director of I&M Bank (Rwanda) Plc on 8th September 2021, where he will bring his significant knowledge and experience of the financial sector, governance protocols, credit and risk management disciplines as well as customer service to the benefit of the Bank. He was educated in the United Kingdom where he obtained an Honours degree in Economics from Portsmouth University and presently is a member of The London Institute of Banking and Finance.

Julius is a partner at AfricInvest Group since 2007 and seats on various board across different countries. He has a vast experience in the Private Equity industry including in the sourcing, structuring, the financial - business plan modelling and the executing of transactions. His experience covers a wide variety of sectors in Sub-Saharan Africa, with a focus on Eastern Africa, Southern Africa and Nigeria, both for growth capital investments and buyouts. Julius moved to the Nairobi office in early 2012 where he covers the region for the AfricInvest Financial sector fund. He holds a Master’s degree in Science of Management (Msc) with a specialization in Finance from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Iddy, serving as the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer & Company Secretary, brings an impressive 8-year track record in the Rwandan Banking Sector. His expertise spans Corporate Law, Corporate Governance, Regulatory Environment, Banking Operations, and Structured Transactions. Initially holding the role of the Bank's Legal Manager, he seamlessly transitioned to become the Company Secretary before his recent promotion. Prior to his tenure at I&M Bank, Iddy made significant contributions as a Legal Manager at KCB Bank. His academic journey includes a Bachelor’s degree in Law, a Master’s degree in Business Law, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
