8. Dormant accounts
- If you do not use your Account for a period of 24 months, the status of the Account will be changed to ‘dormant’. This means that you are unable to use the Account or access any credit balance in your Account until you have contacted us and claimed the dormant We may ask you for information and documents to support your claim.
- When your Account has been marked dormant, Account maintenance fees shall cease to apply for the period it remains We will notify you when your Account becomes dormant. When you claim a dormant balance we will not add interest to your balance if you would have earned interest had your Account not become dormant.
- If your Account remains dormant for a further period of 8 years, funds held in the Account will be transferred to Bank of Uganda and the Account will be closed.
