Orient Bank Limited is successfully registered as a commercial bank in Uganda.

Acquisition of Trans-Africa Bank

Orient Bank Limited successfully won the bid to take over Trans-Africa Bank

Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) and Orient Express Cards are launched.

Point of Sale

Introduction of Point of Sale (PoS) which ushered in the use of plastic cards. OBL's deposit base hit a record UGX101 billion with shareholders' funds exceeding UGX23 billion.
