I&M Group Names Abdi Mohamed As Chief Executive Officer Of I&M Bank Kenya

The Board of Directors of I&M Bank Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Abdi Mohamed as the Chief Executive Officer of I&M Bank Limited. His appointment is subject to the approval of the Central Bank of Kenya and all other applicable regulatory approvals.

Mr. Mohamed joins I&M Bank from Absa Bank Kenya PLC, where he served as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. He brings over 30 years of leadership experience in banking and financial services across retail and corporate banking, strategy, operations, risk management, digital transformation and regional markets.

The Board is confident that Mr. Mohamed's extensive experience, strategic leadership and deep understanding of the financial services sector will guide the Bank as it embarks on its next phase of growth and transformation.

During the transition period, Kihara Maina will continue in this dual capacity as Interim Chief Executive Officer and Regional CEO I&M Group until the regulatory approval process relating to Mr. Mohamed's appointment has been concluded.
